Asking for help can be hard, but staying in the same place is even harder.

I believe that quality therapy starts by building a relationship between client and therapist based on mutual understanding and respect.

Hello and Welcome! My name is Kelly Martin and I am the owner of New Way Counseling.

I provide therapy and counseling for clients struggling with substance use and mental health concerns. I am passionate about helping teens and young adults navigate life’s challenges, and specialize in helping people cope with emotions in healthier ways. I have experience working with adults of all ages, and work well with many different personalities. I believe that everyone deserves a life that’s worth living and is capable of getting there no matter how hopeless things feel.

“All people at any given moment are doing the best they can.”

About Me

I was born and raised in Lincoln, NE and spent some time living in a small town during my High School years. As a result I can relate to both city and small town Nebraska life. I could live off of tacos and pizza, and you will typically see me with a coffee in my hand if we meet anytime before noon. During the summer you will find me and my family at the lake almost every weekend soaking up the sun and playing. In the fall I’m all about Husker Volleyball.

I love being a therapist and seeing the people I work with change and grow over time. My style is gentle yet direct, empathetic, and genuine. I know that therapy can be intimidating and scary at first as I, too, have been in therapy. I know the power on a personal level of learning new ways of living. I appreciate the courage it takes to ask for help, and I’m here when you’re ready.
